Alex Waber is a Vancouver-based commercial, fashion, and portrait photographer known for his cinematic approach to storytelling and lighting. A graduate of Capilano University’s Cinematography program, he brings a deep understanding of visual narrative and mood to still photography, crafting images that range from soft and ethereal to bold and dramatic. 

Still life photography is a personal passion, offering him a chance to explore colour theory, precision lighting, and rich textures. Whether spending a day perfecting a single image or building a dynamic series, Alex finds still life to be a meditative and creatively rewarding process.

With over a decade of experience, Alex has worked with brands including Arc’teryx, SECTION 35, Kit + Ace, Tilley Endurables, Purple Brand, and Shaw Communications. His work has been internationally published including Vogue, Wired, Rolling Stone, The Guardian, Complex, and Montecristo.

As owner and co-manager of Doris, a multidisciplinary photography studio in Vancouver’s Chinatown, Alex is deeply involved in the local creative community. Outside the studio, he hosts live music events and enjoys taking very long bike rides.
